New Infra-Red sensors support

Mescon Technologies proudly announces the new MesConfigurator™ version. This new version, supports input from the popular Infra-Red thermocouple temperature sensors made by Exergen corporation.

IR thermometers use sensors, which convert electromagnetic radiation in the invisible Infra-Red region into mV signals, which are proportional to the temperature of the transmitting body. These signals, when amplified, compensated and linearized, may be used for monitoring and control purposes, much like standard signals from any other temperature transmitters.

Major advantages of Infra-Red thermometers are: remote, non-contact sensing capabilities, very fast response, and simple operation. Just aim the sensor to the target and measure...

A number of companies developed wide lines of low-cost IR sensors which became quite popular around the world. Their major drawback was their limited operating range, due to non-standard linearization curves, resulting in a lack of compatible instrumentation products to interface with.

The new MesConfiguratorallows the Just-PC™ product line to accept the entire family of the Exergen (Watertown, MA) IRt/c sensors, providing them with Cold-Junction-Compensation and near-perfect linearization over a wide temperature range, at last enabling the creation of low cost IR temperature measurement systems for unlimited applications.

All of the Just-PC™ technology products, transmitters, signal conditioners and digital indictors, may now accept the above IR sensors without any modification, hardware or software...
